    • a worm that saturates the print spooler,

    • the presence of the trojan "Graybird-A"

    • Spool blocked by antivirus,

How to resolve the error with spoolsv.exe in Windows

    Printer driver damaged or deleted.

Some involuntary removal, a virus or installing new drivers can not cause this error message

    • Getting the CD to install the print device.

    • Uninstall the printing device.

    • Stop the station and disconnect / reconnect the print device.

    • Restart the system.

    • Follow the installation wizard to reinstall the original drivers supplied with the printing device

    Moving the printer spool directory.

A movement or deletion of spool directory printer may be the cause of the problem

    • The fastest solution is to make a System Restore to a date earlier than the emergence of the problem.

    Stop Service "print spooler."

The "print spooler" load files into memory for printing later, his arrest caused the cancellation of the management of the queue print jobs.

    • Run the Windows Service Manager (Start / Run / services.msc)

    • Start the print spooler service "and put in" Automatic "

Stop Service "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)".

The "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" is necessary for the implementation of "print spooler." His arrest, therefore causing a malfunction Spool when using a printing device.

    • Run the Windows Service Manager (Start / Run / services.msc)

    • Check that the "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" is a good start and in "Automatic"

Congestion in the queue print jobs.

Following a failure of management Spool, a bottleneck in the queue print jobs may occur. Eventually, an accumulation of tasks causes the occupation of almost all system resources.

    • Remove the work waiting in the printer manager

    • Remove the process in Windows Task Manager.

    • Stop the print spooler service.

    • Delete all files in the folder \% systemroot% \ system 32/spool/printer "

    • Start the print spooler.

    • Restart the system

    • Reinstall the print device.

Worm that saturates the print spooler.

The print spooler may be the victim of a worm whose goal is to create a virtual multiple tasks and therefore ultimately to saturate. His whereabouts are usually found in the spool directory.

    • Disable the "spoolsv" in the task manager.

    • As a precaution, save the entire file "\% systemroot% \ system 32/spool/printer" in a folder called something like "c: \ temp \ printer".

    • Look in the directory "\% systemroot% \ system 32/spool/printer" file extension "SPL", usually appointed 00008.spl and remove it. Restart the system.

    • Look in the directory "\% systemroot% \ system 32/spool/printer" file extension "shd" and delete them. Restart the system.

    • Check that the file "spoolsv.exe" lies exclusively in the records systems following:

      • "\% systemroot% \ system32 \ spoolsv.exe" (File launch Spool)
      • "\% systemroot% \ Prefetch \ spoolsv.exe". (This file can be deleted)
      • "\% systemroot% \ ServicePackFiles \ i386 \ spoolsv.exe".
      • "\% systemroot% \ C: \ WINDOWS \ SoftwareDistribution \ Download \ ... \ spoolsv.exe".

    • If you find this file in another folder, usually named capitalized "SP00LSV.exe" with zeros in place of letters "O" should be deleted because it is a malware.

    • Go to your task manager and verify the presence of the "SP00LSV.exe" (with zeros in place of letters "O"). If present, remove it.

How to resolve the error with spoolsv.exe in Windows

Presence of the Trojan horse "Graybird-A."

The print spooler may be the victim of the trojan "Graybird-A." His whereabouts are usually found in the Windows Registry keys at system boot.

    CITATION:
Troj / Graybird-A copies itself to the Windows system folder with the file name spoolsv.exe and setting the following registry entries so that the Trojan is executed when Windows starts:

    HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run \ spoolsv
    HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ RunServices \ spoolsv
    HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run \ spoolsv

An entry "Run" will be added to the win.ini file, which will cause the execution of Trojan horse to restart Windows.

    Spool by blocking the virus.

Your print spooler service does not start. You may be a victim of a bad turn your antivirus software that wrongly regards as an intruder. The problem has been met with the resident "navapsvc" Norton AntiVirus.

    • Stop your Internet connection,

    • Disable your antivirus,

    • Start the print spooler.

    • Reactivate your antivirus,

    • Start your internet connection

Re: How to resolve the error with spoolsv.exe in Windows

I found the fix!!! If you go here there is a .msi that cleans the printers up, reboot and the print spooler problem is no more. Only drawback is you have to add the printers back. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000007

Also, I fixed this on the 24th then my user ran the Vista SP2 updates, this must have over written some .dll (or something) Print spooler stopped running again...ran this & fixed it back up.

Good thing wolfeee, good to know you fixed your problem .

There are many issue that cause error spoolsv.exe in Windows :
This issue can occur if a printer driver that is installed on the computer is damaged.

This situation can occur if BitWare for Windows is installed. The current versions of BitWare are 3.30 and 7.0, which are not fully compatible with the versions of Windows that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article. To check to see if BitWare is running, look for instances of Bwagent.exe or Bwprnmon.exe in Task Manager.

    And more
