What evidence of performance against the competition?
Regarding 4850, based on the average performance in frames / sec in 1920/1200, with AAx4, well understood as an indication, but it gives an idea.

Cross 4850 80% more than 4850 single, and 40% more than 4870 single. 44% plus GTX260 at 13% plus GTX280 44% more than GTX260 and 13% more than GTX280

Warning, these figures are based on the results of the Bench of 3DMark Vantage. Of course, in game, the performance difference is not at all the same, partly because of the optimization or not the crossfire in a game, and secondly, on your hardware and drivers.
