Creating a search engine taking into account only the list of websites of your choice, it is possible and it can be quite useful. When you are looking for such regular royalty free pictures on the Internet, you can confine your requests to a handful of websites that meet this criteria. This can save you endless research about whether or not you can publish this photo on your blog or Facebook.

This service also has the advantage of being able to search within a site that has no engine. The only prerequisite is to have a Google Account. Follow the guide.

With Google Custom Search, you can harness the power of Google to create a customized search experience for your own website.
    • Include one or more websites, or specific webpages
    • Host the search box and results on your own website

    Configure your tool

With your browser, go to the site Google Custom Search Engine. Click on the "Create a Custom Search Engine" button, located at the right top of the screen, to start the process. You may be asked for Google Account (GMail Account), enter the username and password, if you have one, or else make a new account and move to the next step.

Then, enter a name for your tool, for example, "My photos". In the "Description", specify the area covered by your engine. Then change it to your language. Then you have a choice: "Only sites I select" which means the engine should be focus to his search solely on the list of Web sites you have selected or "The entire web, but emphasize sites I select" which means it may dip into the Web? Please note that, depending on the chosen theme, the first option could make you miss some unpublished information posted on a site not listed in your list. Have you decided? Go to site selection. Nothing easier, do you? Yes, if you make sure not to copy the address of a page of a site instead of the full site address.

Then simply tick the "standard edition". In this case, the entire service is free in return for the broadcasting of advertisements in the pages of results.

Check on "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service.". Click on "Following" and test some queries in your search engine. Of course, the quality of responses depend on the quality of the list of sites that you have provided.

Are you satisfied with the test? Then you can check box "Confirmation Email".

    Refine your engine

After validating the creation of your engine, you go to a page corresponding to "Control Panel". Click on the name of your tool. In part "General" to change the criteria previously filled. But you must click on the "Sites" tab located in the left margin to add or remove sites from the list.

From Control Panel, you can also share your engine with your friends or colleagues in order to enrich it. Click on the "Collaboration" tab. Enter the email addresses of your contributors, one after the other, you can send up to 100 invitations.

    Note: Use the correct URL

Your search results corresponding to a keyword entered completely depends upon the website address that you have copied. Now a website is often composed of several sections accessed from different URLs. For example, the site techarena provides news from www.techarena.in and you can access Forums from forums.techarena.in. So, you have to limit the search to one or other of these parties, as they enter the addresses indicated. However, if you want your engine scans the entire site techarena, then you need to enter the following format *.techarena.in/* (in strict compliance with asterisks, dots and bar).
Once connected, the recipient of the invitation can add sites. He just needs to click "Include sites", copy an address in the URL box and click "Register". The site is immediately taken into account by your search engine. As a creator, you can at any time remove the name of a contributor.

    Note: Go to your engine

To access your engine, you can either add the address of it to your favorites, or incorporate a tool to iGoogle previously created. Click on the link in the email received after validation of your engine. This message includes three links to get the code to integrate your search engine to your site or blog and add the tool to your iGoogle page and manage multiple CSEs on iGoogle. However, if you do not receive mail, you will find these options on the page displayed after validation of your engine. Thus, simply click on the "+Google" icon placed under "More Tools" to integrate the engine to your iGoogle page.
