In a few clicks, make your own search engine and target the results of your queries!

Creating a search engine taking into account only the list of websites of your choice, it is possible and it can be quite useful. When you are looking for such regular royalty free pictures on the Internet, you can confine your requests to a handful of websites that meet this criteria. This can save you endless research about whether or not you can publish this photo on your blog or Facebook.

Configure your tool

With your browser, go to the site Google Custom Search Engine. Click on the "Create a Custom Search Engine" button, located at the right top of the screen, to start the process. You may be asked for Google Account (GMail Account), enter the username and password, if you have one, or else make a new account and move to the next step.

Then, enter a name for your tool, for example, "My photos". In the "Description", specify the area covered by your engine. Then change it to your language. Then you have a choice: "Only sites I select" which means the engine should be focus to his search solely on the list of Web sites you have selected or "The entire web, but emphasize sites I select" which means it may dip into the Web? Please note that, depending on the chosen theme, the first option could make you miss some unpublished information posted on a site not listed in your list. Have you decided? Go to site selection. Nothing easier, do you? Yes, if you make sure not to copy the address of a page of a site instead of the full site address.

Then simply tick the "standard edition". In this case, the entire service is free in return for the broadcasting of advertisements in the pages of results.

Check on "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service.". Click on "Following" and test some queries in your search engine. Of course, the quality of responses depend on the quality of the list of sites that you have provided.

Refine your engine

After validating the creation of your engine, you go to a page corresponding to "Control Panel". Click on the name of your tool. In part "General" to change the criteria previously filled. But you must click on the "Sites" tab located in the left margin to add or remove sites from the list.
