Hey thanks for making such a nice post regarding the CCNA training. As i have completed my graduation from Pune University and now wanted to do some certification in networking, i think CCNA is better option for me. I just wanted to know more about the course like fee structure, Course Time, Time of Enrollment etc. If you can then do let me know about the exact location Pune so that i can be there.

Subnetting : Hire the host bit to Create the Subnet. The Ip address is devided into distinct class A,B,C,D,E.
Class Host portion Network Portion
A 24 8
B 16 16
C 8 24

I will take the Example of Class C
so in class C total no Host you Can attach is 2^8 -2 =256-2=254.
Now if need only 62 Pc in network and if i use class C I Can Use 62 IP address. Rest Ip address is going to Waste. For that purpose we do the subnetting.
For the 62 Pc I need Require only 6 bits in host for host.

2^6 -2 = 62.
So the rest two bits for host portion ( class c has 8 bits for host) is shifted to Network. Means 26 bits for Network and 6 Bits for host.
Suppose i have an ip ADDRESS 193.5.5.0. so for 4 subnet and 62 host for each subnet our Notation is
193.5.5.0 / 26 ( This notation is know as CIDR).
If you want calculate the subnet and Range of ip address in each subnet
First calculate subnetmask . for calculating the subnetmask do the all bits of network potion 1 and host portion 0. i my example network portion is 26 and host is 6.
so binary value of subnet mask is
11111111.11111111.11111111.11000000

if you calculate this value in Decimal you got 255.255.255.192.

Now next calculate delta Value 256-192 = 64 ( 256 is the fix value. 192 comes from calculating the subnetmask )
now your block size becomes 64. create the table of 64

First ip Address ( Add one in subnet 193.5.5.0 is subet so first ip address is 193.5.5.1)

Broadcat Address ( Substract one from next subnet. Next subnet is 193.5.5.64 so if you minus 1 it is 193.5.5.63)
Last Ip Address (Substract one from the Broadcat Address ( Broadcast is 195.5.5.63 so if we do mius form this answer is 193.5.5.62)
* subnet and broadcast is not used in ip address so you can use 193.5.5.1 to 193.5.5.62 with subnetmask 255.255.255.192
