| Animation boom in West Bengal
DQ Entertainment (DQE), a leader in Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming, has launched its production center in Kolkata, the first of its kind facility in West Bengal with advanced IT infrastructure. The DQ Entertainment - Kolkata Production Center with its state of the art 3D CGI & Visual Effects facility was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee with Mr. Tapaas Chakravarti, CEO, DQ Entertainment. The inauguration was also graced by Dr. Debesh Das, Minister - Information Technology & Bio Technology, Government of West Bengal, Shri. Siddharth, I.A.S. Principal Secretary - IT, Government of West Bengal and other senior officials from Government of West Bengal and DQ Entertainment. The new state-of-the-art facility will focus on producing high end feature films, Television series and Visual Effects in CGI as well as Game Development for next generation console and online games. The facility houses high-end CGI workstations, supported by networked storage and rendering systems. This production center will accommodate upwards of 280 professionals and will work on major 3D CGI, Gaming and cinema visual effects. Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Tapaas Chakravarthi, Chairman & CEO, DQ Entertainment said, “DQ Entertainment’s Kolkata Production Center is part of our planned expansion to meet the growing demands of our clients. Kolkata is a growth engine of the entire region, which has great education standards, coupled with enthusiasm & dynamism of youth. We are sure that youth will dare to dream with us and further grow the animation boom in India. The center will also train animation enthusiasts into experts in the field of animation and gaming space”. The Kolkata Production Centre has also DQ School of Visual Arts, a specialised animation, VFX and gaming training academy that will impart training on animation and gaming technology for students and young professionals enabling them to develop skills sets to execute productions that meets international quality standards. DQSVA will focus on cultivating creative talent through its year-long rigorous programme. DQ School of Visual Arts offers courses on 2D Animation & 3D Animation with specialization in Animation, Flash, Compositing, Modeling, Rigging, Textures & Surfaces, Lighting, Visual Effects, Camera, Rendering etc and is starting training for a high end game development shortly. |
