I donít know much about this but as far as I know that the candidate appearing the IPS exam should have the Graduation from a recognized university or a college in India. He/She should be between 21 to 30 years of age while appearing the exam. The most important thing is that you should be physically fit. This is only criteria that I know. Thank you.

I would like to tell you that there is no special requirement for the IPS exam. If you fulfill the criteria for civil services exams then you will be qualified for the IPS exams as well because IPS exam is also a part of the Civil Services examination. So, best of luck for your career.

Re: Indian Police Service Examination (IPS) Eligibility criteria

first of all you need to give Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) and that is UPSC exam.
as your over all ranking and selection of cadre, you will be offer IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. if you have higher rank then choice depending on you.
the examiniation fees of the IPS is CRF stamop of rs 100/- from any head post offices. and after that you dont have any examination fees for IPS.

Yeah, it seems that there is some problem while downloading the pdf file of the eligible criteria of Indian Police Service. In any case, the eligibility criteria for joining the Indian police Services is that an aspirant should be a minimum garduate from a recognised university or a college in India. He/She should be 21 years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.
