    Employment after clearing IES exam

    Hello,

    I have now completed Indian Engineering Services in Mechnical branch. Now I wanted to know in which field can I get employment or job with a better future. I also want to know what will be the starting Salary that I can expect and what will be my future career as an IES officer that I can get? Thanks for any help.

    After you have completed your Indian Engineering Services Exam, you can get jobs in different departments under Government of India. With some experience and good rankings you will be recruited as soon as possible. You will get job according to the subjects you have specialized in engineering degree. You might be placed as an Assistant Executive Engineer in different orgranizations when you are selected.

    If you have completed the Engineering Service Examinations you will be eligible to join the different post that are mentioned below:
    1. Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (I.R.S.E.E.)
    2. Indian Railway Service of Engineers (I.R.S.E.)
    3. Indian Railway Stores Services (I.R.S.S) Civil,Mechanical,Electrical, Electronics.
    4. Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (I.R.S.S.E.)
    5. Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (I.R.S.M.E.)

    Based on the different post you will get high pay rolls according to your salary. Below is the mentioned post and salary discussed for candidates who are at different levels of employment:

    • Junior Time Scale (JTS)/ Assistant Director/ Research Officer
      Pay Band-3: 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay
    • Senior Time Scale (STS)/ Deputy Director/ Assistant Economic Adviser/ Senior Research Officer
      Pay Band-3: 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay
    • Junior Administrative Grade (JAG)/ Joint Director/ Deputy Economic Adviser
      Pay Band-3: 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay
      Pay Band-4: 37,400-67,000 plus Grade Pay
    • Senior Administrative Grade (SAG)/ Economic Adviser/ Adviser
      Pay Band-4: 37,400-67,000 plus Grade Pay
    • Higher Administrative Grade (HAG)/ Senior Economic Adviser/ Senior Adviser
      67,000- (annual increment @3%)
      79,000
    • Higher Administrative Grade (HAG )/ Principal Adviser
      80,000 (fixed)
