ETS Expands 'TOEFL Star Performer' Program in India

Due to popular demand, Educational Testing Service (ETS), creators of the TOEFL® test, announced that the new TOEFL Star Performer program will be expanded to include all high-scoring test takers since January 2009. Originally, only those taking the test from February 14 onward qualified. The certificate recognizes Indian students’ with outstanding levels of proficiency achieved in all four communication skills measured by the TOEFL test: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Gena Netten, Senior Marketing Manager for TOEFL,
High scoring TOEFL test takers have contacted ETS requesting that we allow those people who tested before February 14 to qualify for a Star Performer Certificate. We are pleased to accommodate these requests so that test takers can have visual proof of their mastery of the four English skills so important for success in higher education.
TOEFL Star Performer Certificates are available at three levels — gold, silver and bronze. Test takers achieving a minimum TOEFL iBT total score of 110 and a minimum section score of 25 in all four skills will be designated a gold-level star performer. Those with a total score of 95 and minimum section scores of 22 will be designated silver-level star performers while students with a total score of 85 and minimum section scores of 20 will be recognized as bronze-level star performers. Elegant certificates will be available for a modest fee. The TOEFL test is the largest globally deployed testand is conveniently available at more than 4,500 test centers in 180 countries worldwide.
