    UPSC Exams in 2009

    Important for all who want to apply for UPSC exams to be held in 2009:

    Indian Forest Service Examination, 2009
    Date of Notification: 14.02.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 16.03.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 11.07.2009 (Ten days)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or forestry or Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age Limits: 21-30 years as on 01.07.2009
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the degree examination (with prescribed subjects) also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination, 2009
    Date of Notification: 28.02.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 30.03.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 26.07.2009 (One day)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: Intermediate or Senior Secondary (12 years) Examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Mathematics and at least one of the subject Physics & Chemistry as subjects of the Examination in Ist or IInd Division.
    Age Limits: 17-21 years as on 01.08.2009
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the Intermediate/Senior Secondary (12 years) examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education/1st year of the 3 years degree course or equivalent examination with the prescribed subjects also eligible subject to certain conditions.

    National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (II), 2009
    Date of Notification:14.03.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 13.04.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 30.08.2009 (One day)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed:
    (i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
    (ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at Naval Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
    Age Limits: 16 ½ - 19 years as on 01.07.2010
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Combined Defence Service Examination (II), 2009
    Date of Notification: 18.04.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 18.05.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 13.09.2009 (One day)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed:
    (i) For IMA and OTA: Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
    (ii) For Naval Academy: B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
    (iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
    Age Limits:
    For IMA 19-24 years as on 01.07.2010.
    For NA 19-22 years as on 01.07.2010
    For AFA 19-23 years as on 01.07.2010
    For OTA 19-25 years as on 01.07.2010
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the degree or equivalent examination also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2009
    Date of Notification: 09.05.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 08.06.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 11.10.2009 (One day)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: A degree from a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age Limits: 20-25 years as on 01.08.2009
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the degree or equivalent examination also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 23.10.2009 (Twenty-One day)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: A degree from a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age Limits: 21-30 years as on 01.08.2009
    Remarks: Only such of the candidates as are declared qualified on the results of Preliminary Examination are eligible to take the Main Examination.

    Indian Economic/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2009
    Date of Notification: 06.06.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 06.07.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 21.11.2009 (Three days)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: A Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics for the IES and a Post-graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics for the ISS, from a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age Limits: 21-30 years as on 01.01.2009
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at the Post-graduate degree or equivalent examination in the relevant disciplines also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Geologists’ Examination, 2009
    Date of Notification: 20.06.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 20.07.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 05.12.2009 (Three days)
    Minimum academic qualifications prescribed: Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age Limits: 21-32 years as on 01.01.2009
    Remarks: Candidates appearing at their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination (with prescribed subjects) also eligible to compete subject to certain conditions.

    Section Officers’/Stenographers’ (Grade ‘B’/Grade-I) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination
    Date of Notification: 27.06.2009
    Last date for receipt of applications: 24.08.2009
    Date of Commencement of examination and its duration: 26.12.2009 (Four days)
    Remarks: Departmental Examination open to only certain categories of Government Servants
