Speaking about the contest, Fr. P. Christie, Director, LIBA said, “LIBA has always strived to promote value based education. I am extremely happy to provide a platform for the young minds of India to air their creative ideas on how to tackle corruption. Our country is a land of opportunities; yet, it is sadly shadowed by notorious corruption in all walks of life. Our leaders of tomorrow have the additional responsibility of weeding out this malice. The theme is more relevant today due to the current tumultuous markets world over. There is a grave fear that India may slip deeper into corruption due to greed for money. I am sure our students will rise up to the occasion.”

Dr. Matthew Shank, Dean of School of Business Administration, University of Dayton said, “The Mindful Leadership theme asks students to explore new ideas to combat corruption and unethical practices. The new generation of business leaders will have a historic opportunity to set high ethical standards that will extend across international boundaries, creating a climate in which trust and business opportunity can flourish globally."

    Winners of Mindful Leadership 2008:

Kshiitij Gopal – B.E, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore
The event made me realize that a small change in the market back home could possibly have a significant impact on global investment trends. The changes now are evidently faster.

Dilip Shankar – B.Com, RKM Vivekanada College, Chennai
Witnessing the NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony was just amazing. And the various sessions that highlighted the effect that emerging economies like our own has on economies like that of the United States were highly stimulating. I liked the fact that colleges in US are so student-inclusive. They are given the freedom to choose their area of specialization and still be able to take courses in other discipline that interest them.
