    Is it obligatory to buy student insurance for study abroad?

    One of friend who has opted for overseas studies has bought an ICICI student insurance which provides cover against unexpected medical and non-medical expenses during his study travel abroad. Is it obligatory to buy student insurance for students who pursue higher education abroad.?plz guide me

    It is not obligatory, but its a precaution which secures your study in abroad. It is always better to take this type of insurance policy when you are not much financially strong for abroad unexpected medical and non-medical expenses .
