Thanks Leonard, but that doesn't work on my system -- dragging into My Computer yeilds the crossed-circle icon and attempts to copy/paste don't work either -- those options are greyed out. | Re: Add shortcut to My Computer
You didn't ask about "dragging into My Computer". You asked how to make "a shortcut to My Computer". A shortcut to My Computer opens My Computer when double-clicked. The method I gave you does exactly that. If you are asking about something else, try re-phrasing your question. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est KumbiaKid wrote: > Thanks Leonard, but that doesn't work on my system -- dragging into My > Computer yeilds the crossed-circle icon and attempts to copy/paste don't work > either -- those options are greyed out. > > "Leonard Grey" wrote: > >> Start > My Computer > drag and drop >> --- >> Leonard Grey >> Errare humanum est >> >> KumbiaKid wrote: >>> What is the simplest way to add a shortcut to "My Computer" in Win XP Pro? |

Hi Leonard, I see how my query was prone to misinterpretation -- sorry about that ("Errare humanum est", indeed!). What I mean to ask about is how to place a shortcut to another folder into the "My Computer" folder. "Leonard Grey" wrote: > You didn't ask about "dragging into My Computer". My Computer is a system folder. You can't add anything to it, other than a shortcut to Control Panel. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est KumbiaKid wrote: > Hi Leonard, > > I see how my query was prone to misinterpretation -- sorry about that > ("Errare humanum est", indeed!). That is a very useful accomplishment, and a very easy one, but people do not practise it much. In the every-day affairs of life it is more useful to reason forwards, and so the other comes to be neglected.
