In Windows Vista:Task bar hangs And (right click) NEW option Not coming.

My taskbar hangs suddenly after sometime of working. It mostly happens after starting and closing some big programs like HD movies or after closing some big games. I then have to close the explorer and start again. Again after some time, the taskbar hangs and stops working. I am unable to use even start menu because of this task bar issue.

Also another problem is that, my mouse is not running the option NEW when is right clicked. Whenever i try to create a new folder or anything in the NEW option, as soon as i click it, the whole system hangs. After login-off and then login-in again, if i again try to access NEW thru the mouse right click, the system again hangs. What is the solution for this problem and also the above problem?

The OS i m using is Vista Ultimate.

Fixing the registry might solve your problem. This is however a careful task and needs to be done properly. Try repairing the registry with this tool.

Registry repair seems to be the last option for your case. Such problems occur due to some uncertain reasons and once they occur, they are difficult to deal with. For that, installation of the fresh OS is what you can do to get rid of it. Back up all your important files before doing that.

Microsoft is unable to solve this old bug from long time. The windows or some of it components hangs out due to some unknown reasons and this problem is more common in Vista. God knows when Microsoft will solve these issues!

    Similiar Problem

Thus the reason I am here. Reinstalling the OS is just BS at least that is the way I feel. MS tech support always cops out with the same solution for any problem with windows when almost always there is a very simple solution to the problem.

As of this morning: Initial Start up hangs, Once I open Explorer and browsing folders it hangs if I right click on any file, Windows Update had just installed updates the day before (a few of these updates have been awaiting install).

Anyway if I find out anything will post my findings

What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without
    Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
    Explorer (No Add-ons).

Re: In Windows Vista: new software install causes hang

Similar problem after successfully uninstalling and then re-installing application. This occurs with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. When app tries to start up, this results:
    "Description:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
    Application Name: ArchiCAD.exe
    Application Version: 14.0.0.3004
    Application Timestamp: 4c06037d
    Hang Signature: aa1f
    Hang Type: 0
    OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.6
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional Hang Signature 1: 15a1b880d8c1ec9d9c3dbc71ee47fd69
    Additional Hang Signature 2: d357

    Additional Hang Signature 6: d357
    Additional Hang Signature 7: e7aeeef41334e67e5f5ce073d6114679"

Help is needed before the problem spreads from the application (which had previously run properly for years) degenerates into UI degradation.
