Problem with thumbnails

This is not a big thing just annoying. At some time my thumbnails have all stated displaying a generic windows scene of an island with some clouds. They used to be a real thumbnail and showed the picture in miniature. I have seached all through the normal MS no help on W7 and can't even find a mention of thumbnails. I am assuming (bad , I know) that I probably changed some setting someplace but, I'll be dipped if I can figure this out.

I think that you need to click on Start and then go to Control Panel. After that go to Folder Options > View tab > Files and Folders > and then uncheck the 'Always show icons never thumbnails' option and click ok and then apply.
