change welcome text in Windows 8

Hi there. Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to change the welcome text that is on the login screen in Windows 8. Usually instead of welcome text I just want to display any other text, like "Glad to have you back" or something similar. I have searched for this on different websites but havent found a proper solution? Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

Follow the below steps to change the welcome text in Windows 8:

    1. First of all, open windows explorer and go to this location - C:\Windows\System32\en-US\winlogon.exe.mui.
    2. After that take ownership of winlogon.exe.mui file and set its permission to allow full permission and the close Windows Explorer.
    3. Now copy the winlogon.exe.mui file at the desktop and download Resource Hacker by searching it on the net.
    4. After that, you have to right click on Resource Hacker shortcut in Start Menu and run as admin.
    5. After Resource Hacker opens, click on file and open and then choose all files in the Files of type drop down box and search to choose the copied winlogon.exe.mui file from your desktop and open it.
    6. Now check in the left pane of Resource Hacker, you will need to expand String Table, and 63, to 1033.
    7. After that check in the right pane of 1033, you will have to replace the Welcome text in quotes at both 1002 and 1005 locations with the text you want to insert within quotes and once it is done then click on the Compile Script button and click on File and Save, then close Resource Hacker.
    8. Now you have to copy the modified winlogon.exe.mui file from your Desktop and then paste it into the C:\Windows\System32\en-US folder.
    9. You need to reboot the computer and log in to see the changes made.

There is also a way to do this by modifying the registry entry. Check below for instance:

    1. First of all type regedit in Searhc Box and then press Enter, a registry editor will open.
    2. After that go to the following registry key - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
    3. In the same registry key you need to locate Legalnoticecaption and insert whatever title text that you want to use.
    4. Now you have to double click on Value names, and then enter your detail under Value in Edit String.
    5. Now reboot the computer and check if it works.

I dont think microsoft legally allows you to change the welcome text since you will get into trouble or sometime it will make your Operating System not usable doing this sort of process. You know that you need to edit your system registry which should be done carefully because if it is not done that way, then you will end up damaging the system files and thus leading to Windows Crashing.
