How to remove Home group icon in Windows 8

As mentioned in the title, I want to know how can I remove Home group icon from the navigation pane in Windows 8? I know how to do it in windows 7 but I am not able to trace the same path in windows 8. Is there anyone who has got success in removing it by now? There are some articles over the web for removing Home group icon form desktop but I don’t see any for removing it from navigation pane.

    Give this a try mate………
    1. Open my computer
    2. Right click on "Homegroup" icon under Navigation pane
    3. Select “Change Home Group Settings”
    4. Click on "Leave the homegroup..." link
    5. Once you are done with the above steps open Services.msc and disable these two services “HomeGroup Listener” and “HomeGroup Provider”

Yes that should work but then I just wanted to add that to disable those two services you should not be a part of homegroup. In short you will have to first get rid of homegroup and only after that you will be able to disable the two services.
If you have any further query then you can feel free to ask, best of luck.
