Start orb fixing in windows 7

I got some themes from internet to be applied on Windows 7 to customize it to look beautiful. I was playing with these themes by changing them one after another. After some theme changes, I tried to restore the original theme back on my computer. The whole theme got restored except for the orb that pops up the start menu. The orb went complete black but was functioning well. Can someone tell me why it is happening?

When you changed the themes as you have mentioned, one of these theme must have edited the code to load the bitmap for the orb. Another chance must be that the original bitmap must have been replaced by bitmap from other theme. As you removed the theme, so did the changed bitmap go.

This left nothing to load for the original theme which is why you are getting black spot instead of the orb.

Here is the original bitmap file for the orb of Windows 7. I have posted the file along with this post. You can download this file and replace the faulty orb bitmap with the default bitmap to restore it back.
