Drag and drop files onto taskbar icon in windows 7

I have seen many people just drag and drop their files to the windows 7 task bar and the file opens. Though i have used it in Windows XP (dont know how he did it). I just used to drag and drop any of my files to the taskbar to open it. that was very easy for me. Couple of days ago i updated one of my XP system to Windows 7 and i found that Drag and Drop is not working in Windows 7. Thats ridiculous. Windows 7 is such a smart OS and it doesn't have drag and drop feature ? Is there any way to make it work ?

Re: Drag and drop files onto taskbar icon in windows 7

Well, its there in Windows 7 too but little tricky. By default when you drag and any file to W7 task bar, it shows you that the file is pinned instead of opening them. This is because PINNING is the new featured embedded in Windows 7 and not in windows xp. Hence files use to open directly by dropping them to taskbar.

In windows 7 you need to press and hold 'Shift' key while dropping them to taksbar. This will open the file for viewing instead of pinning them.
