Unable to delete desktop shortcuts on Vista
I can't delete some shortcuts to applications on my desktop on Windows Vista. These were newly installed and I've never had this problem with other applications before. When I try to delete the shortcuts, it says:
"Destination Folder Access Denied"
...and that I need permission to perform this action. But I'm the only user on my laptop and I'm the administrator. I've looked at the permissions settings under the properties of these applications and they seem correct.
How can I delete these shortcuts?
Re: Unable to delete desktop shortcuts on Vista
Yeah, it is some kind of strange behavior of Vista. Anyways, just reboot your system, log-in in to your Administrator account and now try to delete it. Make sure that particular program is not running in the background, if it is try to kill it from the task manager and than delete the desktop shortcut. For more info, checkout these articles:
