    800x600 resolution doesn't fill screen

Hello I am facing the problem with this resolution setting. Some day before I was playing a game on my laptop using DOSBox, the game froze, and while playing sometime in between it started lagging or freezing for some time. And then I just mashed the keyboard when it freezes and then it starts again. But when I mashed the keyboard it made it to 800x600 resolutions does not use the entire screen or it’s not able to fill the entire screen. Then I tried to solve this problem with display setting but I cannot get any solution on it please help me to solve this problem.

This problem maybe related with your graphic card. It is totally depends on your graphic card setting. Its totally depend on which graphic card you are using. You have to check that does your graphic card support to 800x600 resolutions. Some computer video card does not support 800x600 resolutions so you have to check all this graphic card related setting. If you are using Nvidia GeForce 32mb graphic card then it will support for this 800x600 resolution. And it will fill your screen.

Nowadays many companies manufacturing laptop with the optimum resolution display settings. Means laptop’s displays are more than your desktop computers. It’s having the gateway profiles, which is basically providing flat screen monitor and computer in one. So if you are setting resolution on 800x600 it can’t help you because the lower resolution is not fill the screen on laptop or on a flat screen. So for that you have to make a setting of your display drivers.

Even I am facing the same problem. I am using toshiba4010 with 13”screen but when I move on the 15“ desktop LCD my display is appeared with the 1” black border around my screen. This problem is occurring in older laptop. So I cannot change this resolution problem on this older laptop. Many laptop manufacturing companies are introducing laptops with this resolution appearance setting. You can be changed in the display properties of windows to match a bigger screen.

Whenever you are playing any game on laptop or on a desktop computer you have to set the internal resolution from the game setting. You have to set your refresh rate for the monitor. Usually 15” monitor will be 1024x768 @60Hz.but still your monitor can supports for higher refresh rate. You have to refresh your rate on 70Hz or 75Hz.when you completed with this go to nvidia display properties and override this refresh rate there.
