how to change white background screen to other colour?

hi friends! is ti possible to change white background screen to other colour in Windows XP SP3. i want to know because it effects on my eyes and thats why i want to change this white background color to some other light color.

Strange buddy ! You can easily change it right from where you use to change the themes, Desktop Properties.. Just right click on desktop, select properties, than go to Desktop Tab and you will find a button on the bottom right side named color. Just select the color you need from there and apply. Thats it.

That's simple but tricky. In Windows XP, go to Display Properties - Appearance tab - click on Advanced button - under Item, select Window - now you will given the option to choose the color under "Color 1:". Once you have chosen your color then save the changes by clicking on OK button. Again press OK button. That's it!
