Windows blind 6 theme cannot be applied in windows 7

I am unable to install the windows blind 6 theme, Because whenever i try to install this theme the windows classic theme gets applied to the system automatically. I have an lg desktop installed with windows 7. Also i able to see it in the display properties, It appears as the selected theme is been applied but the desktop shows only the classic windows theme. Anyone any ideas please help me!!!

Hi hebrew !! The main cause behind this problem would be that either you have not installed the windows blind 6 theme properly or you have downloaded a setup which is not proper. So i would suggest you to reinstall the windows blind 6 and check whether it works . If not, then download the file from another website and also using a different browser. This might work for you.

Firstly i would like to know whether you have a 5.x version installed before in your system. If yes then please use the add or remove utility to uninstall this and then again install the windows blind 6. and then restart your system. Now you can apply the theme of your choice. Hope you will fix this error soon.

Thanks for the reply. I tried what you all suggested but it turned of no use to me. As one of you said to download it from a different source and with a different medium. But that doesn't make any difference. Also i had uninstalled all the other version before installing this but that too could not help me. Any other ideas.

I don't think that you are facing this problem due to the setup or downloaded file. I think you have made a simple mistake of patching the uxtheme.dll. That is the real problem you can solve this issue by restoring the uxtheme.dll file after that the windows blind theme should be applied without any problem.

Have you checked compatibility?
Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!

As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
