OpenBox
Openbox is a window manager free for the X Window System, available under license GPL. In the beginning was derived from Blackbox 0.65, but has been totally rewritten and since version 3.0 is not based on any portion of alien code. It is designed to be fast and consume a minimum amount of resources. To achieve lightness sacrifice some features typical of much of the window managers such as menu bar, list of running applications or rounded edges on windows. But in return, offers other possibilities such as dynamically generated menus can offer a variety of information. Openbox allows the user to have a root menu on your desktop when you press the right mouse button, and can set the mode in which windows are managed. When a window is minimized becomes invisible can be re-using the ALT + Tab or via the Desktop menu, available in the root menu.
Settings
There are only two configuration files located in ~ /.config / openbox named menu.xml and rc.xml. If you do not want to edit by hand, much of the configuration can be done with a simple graphical management tool called obconf. The behavior of keyboard and mouse can be configured. For example, if the user wants to move a window to the virtual desktop number three when you hit the close button with the middle mouse button, you can get it very easily.
Unique Features
The Openbox menu system is dynamic. This is achieved using the output of a script as the source of the menu. Whenever the user points his mouse to submenu, the script runs again and the menu is regenerated. This capability allows users and developers more flexibility than the typical static menus found in most other window managers.
