| Windows XP Desktop Mod: Change Windows XP Desktop into Mac OS X Desktop
Here I will show you how to make Windows XP desktop look like into a Mac, and from that you will have the stylish dock below to launch applications quickly. Basically it's like having a Mac, unimaginative white case and which is quite expensive price. ![]() How to turn XP into a Mac 1. All shortcuts and icons not used: Right click the desktop and go to "Arrange Icons by "and uncheck" Show Desktop Icons. You should now have own office. Do not be afraid. You can still access the My Computer, My Documents, and Recycle Bin standbys from Windows Explorer. 2. Install RKLauncher: RKLauncher (also known RKDock) is a Windows version of the animation of the Mac taskbars, or "dock". You can download it Here. RKLauncher comes with a pretty cool theme. If you want your dock just as if a Mac, try RealDock for A great clone of the Mac Dock appearance. RKLauncher official build has not been updated recently, so if you want something more up-to-date, grab a nightly build. Another good dock program is ObjectDock by Stardock, you can skin whatever you want and it does the animations and everything. 3. Hide the taskbar: It does not make sense to have both ObjectDock / RKDock and the Windows taskbar. Right click on a blank space in ObjectDock, go to the tab Settings, then select behavior on the box with the marks selecting "Hide the Windows taskbar, and click OK. RKLauncher should work similarly. This removes the taskbars. You can also move the taskbar to the front of the screen. 4. Add Widgets: Widgets are desktop toys to entertain and inform. Consider some of the things you want to put on a real desk: a picture frame, a newspaper in a hula dance girl! But they are on your desktop PC, not your real You will once you see it. They might be fun for your computer's boring. Widget Download the free Yahoo Widgets. You can will download a widget engine from Yahoo! Widget Engine, which comes with widgets like a picture frame, an analog clock, calendar and time display. You can get more widgets like RSS news son and a girl dancing the hula widget gallery. Yahoo! also released an engine that can help you make your own widgets and which is available here. 5. Get Safari for Windows: Just Get the new Safari 3 Beta for Windows or get Firefox and you can skin Firefox to look like Safari. 6. Change your wallpaper to look like Mac OS X Tiger. Or you can get high resolution wallpaper from here which will not make your computer like a mac, but a sense of style and a unique touch. 7. Install your Expose from docs.kr. With this program (screen shot shows the 'Windows Vista Flip "movement"), you can configure your Windows to spread over the turn of the key! An it is for free download! 8. Move your buttons: ShellWM is a "title only" shell replacement. It allows you to have the maximize, minimize and close buttons on the left so download this from here. 9. Change your mouse pointers: For full effect, download a new set of Mouse pointers. Save these to your computer (preferably in C: \ WINDOWS \ Cursors). It may be a good idea to make a record of it for easy installation.) To install these cursors, choose Mouse from the Control Panel, click the 'Pointers tab, and set your new pointers appropriately. For better pointer operating system, use FLyakiteOS. If you do not want to change the sliders manually, you can install them with a simple Mac OS X Mouse Cursors for Windows XP and Vista - Easy Installer 10. Keep the change and some reading: Try to customize all the applications you have downloaded and that suits you purpose and also some hunts for customization regularly! |
