Change background color of desktop icons to transparent

In my desktop page, the text under the desktop icons has black background color. I was wondering if I can change the background color of desktop icons back to transparent. If anybody knows how to change this...then please let me know !!

To set desktop icons background color to transparent,

Step 1. Open System Properties in Control Panel / Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.

Step 2. A dialog box will open. In this dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then the Settings button under the Performance section.

Step 3. Scroll down to the button to search for a checkbox called “Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop”. Check this box for transparent backgrounds on the icons.

try doing this -

First, remove all active desktop items :
Right click Desktop >> Properties >> Desktop tab >> 'Customize desktop' button >> Web tab >> Uncheck all items >> click OK twice.

Next, uncheck lock icons :
Right click Desktop >> Point to Arrange icons by uncheck "Lock web items"

Finally, enable 'Use Drop shadows for icons' :
Click Start >> select Run >> type sysdm.cpl ,3 >> click OK
Click the first "Settings" button under Performance tab
Scroll down to check for "Use drop shadows for icon labels...." and click OK.
