This is monitor error. You can try different resolutions to get rid of this error. Some programs require perfect or accepts the resolution meant for them. Like in case of high graphics games. Enable VSYNC when playing game.

I was facing the same problem. It is the issue regarding graphics. Your graphics card may be overheating. Get the latest drivers for hardware. Check for all the updates.

Your system might be infected. Update antivirus and run system scan. You also need to install drivers for video card. In device manager remove graphics driver and reinstall and restart. Reinstalling your video and monitor drivers help in this case. Also try to apply safe mode video setting in safe mode. Select settings within the capabilities of the monitor.

Using the windows Safe Mode, you might be able to adjust the display settings back to normal. Just press the f8 button after POST until the menu comes up.

Hi This is usually to do with the windows setting on the refresh rate of the monitor. For a flat screen TFT it should be 60Htz by default. If the screen cannot go above that it will give the error you suggest.

However if you cannot change it it maybe that you can check onthe menu of your actual monitor that someone in your office isn't playing games and has set it up with a higher refresh rate that your desktop cannot deal with...

What OS have you got and what type of screen/monitor?
