How do I display the recycle bin on my desktop

Hello,

Display of recycle bin on my desktop has been disappeared or some has deleted unknowingly, has anyone got any ideas what or where it could have gone,and how i get it back, My operating system is windows XP sp3 and I am using ms office 2007. Can you help me in how to enable this please? I have log in as system administrator ( my personnal laptop) any help will be appreciated.

Do system restore, for doing system restore :

1. Click Start
2. Click on Control Panel
3. click Display. In the Display Properties panel click Desktop tab
4. Then click on Customize Desktop button.
5. On Desktop Items panel under General tab click Restore Default button.

You can simply do it by going to All programs -> go to Accessories -> then open Windows Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Folder Options. On the View tab, under Advanced Settings, just Select the Show Recycle Bin icon on the desktop check box to show the icon on your desktop. This will display recycle bin your my desktop.

If your problem is not solved by above to solutions then the the display in control panel might be removed in Group Policy. To resolve this : Logged in as administrator Go to start, click on run, type gpedit.msc to open Group Policy Object Editor, go to user Configuration –> administrative Template –> Control Panel –> Display, In the right pane, double-click Remove Display in Control Panel. Change the setting to Not configured. Open a command prompt, go run and type gpupdate /force.
