Recycle bin icon not refreshing

Hi,
I have windows vista running on my computer. I just deleted some files and folders and it automatically moved in recycle bin. Then i emptied my recycle bin. But its not showing the empty icon after refreshing desktop hundred times. Can anyone help?

You can manually reset the Recycle Bin icon. Follow the steps below to change it:

• Right-click the Desktop
• Select Personalize
• Click Change desktop icons in Task Pane
• Select the Recycle Bin (full) icon
• Then click Change Icon
• In the Change Icon dialog box, select the full Recycle Bin icon
• Click OK
• Select the Recycle Bin (empty) icon
• Then click Change Icon
• In the Change Icon dialog box, select the empty Recycle Bin icon
• Click Apply and OK

Try restoring it to default from Personalize -> Change desktop icons -> select the Recycle Bin icon -> click on Restore Default. Go to C:\Usersname\AppData\Local\IconCache.db and delete 'IconCache.db' file. And reboot the system. You will see the new one after restart.

Create and run a Registration Entries (.reg) file to solve this problem. Following steps will show how to create registry file:

• Open notepad and copy and paste following:

• Then save the file with the following file name: recyclebin_icon.reg
• Exit and double click on that saved file
• Click Yes on continue prompt
• Click OK
