Downloaded and Install themes but Unable to see

Hello Friends,

I found sites where i downloaded the themes to customize my desktop, its 5 Mb .rar file,I successfully download that file,extract file and able to view the customed themes,but when i tried to upload those themes on the desktop it doesn't show anything, the previous desktop themes remains the same.

I wonder what kind of problem this would be, has anyone come across this before.

please suggest.

Please check on the site from where you have downloaded is it compatible for the OS you are using, this may happen that you could be able to see the theme before uploading to your desktop using paint or any other editor tool,but it won't support to the OS.

I have checked that and I found that themes were for Windows XP and i have Windows Vista and also even that side mentioned it for windows XP,2000 and some more but it was given in the one side corner which skips from me.

Thanks for your help.But cant we have the same theme in windows Vista,those themes were really impressive.
How to convert the XP themes into Vista themes.
