Get Old-Style Taskbar in Windows 7

I bought the new Windows 7 OS last week for my home use. As you all know its the latest and much advanced Operating system from Microsoft. It comes with Superbar rather than Task bar with new features and much innovative than the taskbar we have previously experienced in older versions of Windows.

Because of that my kids and some members of family feels uncomfortable. So is there any way we can convert the Superbar in the Taskbar ?

Apart from the amazing glass effects, transparency and application-specific background coloring, the Superbar also brings in new features such as 'Jump Lists' which pins all running instances of an application to its icon on the Superbar instead of opening them as separate tabs.

Anyways.. its simple to get Task bar in Windows 7, just try this steps:-

1. Right click on Superbar and select 'Properties'.
   
   
2. In the 'Taskbar' tab that opens in a popup, look for the label that says 'Taskbar buttons'. It should be set to 'Always Combine' by default.
   
   
3. Select 'Never Combine' from the drop down menu and click 'Apply'.

You can get back the old Vista style taskbar in Windows 7 by changing the following settings in the Start menu properties.

1. Right-click on the Taskbar and select Properties.

2. Here you need to change three options. Let us do it one by one. First, check the box named “Use small icons”.

3. Next select “Never combine” option for the Taskbar options.

4. Lastly, uncheck the box named “Use Desktop Preview”. Desktop Preview option temporarily minimizes open windows when you place mouse on the far end button of the taskbar.

5. Click “Apply” to make changes you have done in the above three steps.
