    Customizing subtitle font size

I have problems with many of the custom subs are being made on various DVD releases that are very small. I have a 20" television and has frequent trouble reading them (versus the normal retail DVDs which I can read fine).

I use VLC to play and has tried to tamper with subtitle in it but it only has something to say when a file is being used as a subtitle source.

Is there a way to increase the font size of subs without the need to reencode entire DVD?

Why should the subs at all in the first instance be so small compared to the normal, what comes next; comic sans?

I appreciate your response Isaac1. But so much I have tried this, it works only for external subtitles and not the ones that I have customized in my DVDs.

    Re: Customizing subtitle font size

You can change the font size of subtitles that appear on your player. You will require Media Player Classic. By using this player you can also increase the font size, style, color and also Screen alignment and margins.

    How to do -
    1. You will require video in AVI format and a SRT file in the same folder (name of both files should be same).

    2. Open this video with Media Player Classic.

    3. Go to View -> Options. A options window will open.

    4. In this window look for Subtitles and click on Default Style. It will look like -

    5. Click on the Font (Arial by default ). Here you can change font size, style, color.
