    Relocate Quick Launch Toolbar ?

I normally use Quick Launch toolbar for housing application, folder, and URL shortcuts and enjoy using that, but the toolbar occupies lots of space on the taskbar. I want to ask is there anyway I can position/relocate a Quick Launch Toolbar anywhere else on the screen?

To re-position your quick launch toolbar,
Using your mouse, go and click the little line on the toolbar that looks like a few vertical dots, then while holding the mouse button down, drag the toolbar out onto your desktop. Drag the toolbar again to any side of the screen you want until it fits to that side of the screen and anchors there.

You can then resize the toolbar to be the width/height you want.

If you want the toolbar to always be on top, right click on the toolbar and select "Always on Top".

    Very Simple
    • Right-click an empty space on the taskbar.
    • Unlock Taskbar.
    • Click and Drag the taskbar to any side of your screen.
    • Once the taskbar is located, you can adjust the height and width of the taskbar.
    • Again, right-click an empty space on the taskbar and lock it.

If you want that the toolbar should appear on top the screen permanently,
then right-click and select "Always On Top".

Re: Relocate Quick Launch Toolbar ?

If in case you are using Windows Vista, then it might create a problem for you becoz The options to move the Quick Launch toolbar were removed in Vista.

However, there is a workaround, but a little kludgy.

    1. Go to Start and type: shell:quick launch (including the colon) In the
results, click Quick Launch. This will take you to the default quick launch
    folder.

    2. Click the Internet Explorer folder just above the QL folder. In the right
side window, right click the QL folder and select Copy. Go to the Desktop
and right click Paste the folder there.

    3. Drag the QL folder to the left side of the screen and drop it there. It
should act just like the original QL bar and attach itself there.

    4. Right click the original QL folder that you pasted to the Desktop and
select Delete. All of the icons will disappear from the new QL bar.

    5. Right click the new QL toolbar and select Toolbars from the pop up menu.
You should see 2 entries for Quick Launch there. Select the top entry and
    the icons should reappear.

Re: Relocate Quick Launch Toolbar ?

    Hello all:

I tried this on a friend's computer and it does not want to work. The quicklaunch folder that I copy on the desktop, when pulled to the right side does not open, nor does it stick there...

My friend is using Vista home premium...

How do I get this to work on her computer?

    Thanks
