    Follow these steps:

    • Resize the window to the size you want it
    • Then press and hold 'Ctrl'
    • Now select 'X' in the top right hand corner to close the window
    • Let go of the 'Ctrl' key

The next time you open IE it should be this size. Hope this helps you out.

Try to do a manually reset.. Here’s how you can do so.

    1. Launch Internet Explorer.

    2. Click one of the window corners and drag it out to completely fill your screen. Do not use the Maximize button.

    3. Press [Alt] to view the menu bar (if you are using Internet Explorer 7).

    4. Press and hold down either [Ctrl] or [Shift] while selecting Exit from the File menu. Do not use the Close button.

Now when you launch Internet Explorer, it should open in a full window. If it opens in the same small window, repeat the steps but hold down the opposite key in step 4, that is either [Ctrl] or [Shift].

This can happen if a registry value is incorrect. If you are happy making changes to your registry try this. First, set a system restore point. Next, click on Start-->Run. In the box type "regedit". As an extra precaution click File on the top line then select Export. Name the file "backup" and save to your desktop. Navigate to HKEY_ CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft \Internet Explorer\Main. In the right-hand pane, locate and delete the value Window_Placement by right-clicking on it and selecting delete. Click File then exit. Now open IE and maximise the window. now close IE and reopen and check the size. It should now be full-screen.
