Clear windows update icon

Hi all,
I installed all updates successfully. I don't want to see that windows update icon anymore. How can i get rid of that?

All suggestions are welcome.

Open Windows Update from Start => All Programs =>Select the Custom update type, then find the troublesome update on the list of available ones. Click the "+" gadget to expand the information about the update and expose the box that allows you to hide it. If the update has a check mark next to it, the box to hide it will be grayed out. Remove the check mark on the update, if necessary, and check the box to "don't show this update again".
That should stop it from asking you to install the update and it should clear the update shield from the system tray.

Go to the windows update website. It will present yo with a button to select "Express" or "Custom". Select custom. It will scan your computer and then present a list of updates. One will the the item you mentioned. Unchecked the box next to it, and you will then be able to select a box that says "don't show this update again". This will work for you.

You can simply disable the Automatic Updates feature in the Control Panel => System =>Automatic Updates. But it is Not Recommended.

Start up system in safemode & log into the administrator account or as a user administrator privilege. Look for the Windows\system32 and Windows\system32\dllcache folders for the WGATray.exe file and delete it from both directories.
From Start => Run => type regedit and click OK & browse:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ssoftware\Microsoft\ Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinlogonNotify

Look for the Wgalogon folder, remove it and restart the computer.
