    Windows 7 X64 Sidebar gadget not working

    Hi,

    After getting Windows 7 x64 installed I know that there is no sidebar on Windows 7, but I am having a problem getting the Pandora Gadget to work. Whenever I try to open it nothing happens. Anybody got the same problem? I have the beta build 7000 installed.

    Please help !

    Follow the following trick

    1- Open the notepad

    2- Paste this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings]
    "SidebarDockedPartsOrder"="0x1,0x2,0x3,0x4"
    "AllowElevatedProcess"=dword:00000001
    3- Save as something.reg and enjoy the gadgets even if the UAC is turned off

    this will surly make your gadget working. good luck

    You dont need side bar anymore, rightclick anywhere on desktop and goto gadgets, Add the ones you want, put them where you want (side, top, anywhere) and thats your gadgets as they were in vista.

    What has changed since Windows Vista? Microsoft has made the following changes to Windows Gadgets in Windows 7:

    No more (visible) Sidebar. The Windows Sidebar UI is now removed in Windows 7 because so few people left it enabled even though it was turned on by default. The people have spoken. Note, however, that the Sidebar executable, sidebar.exe, is still running in the background when you have any gadgets displayed. Yep, it's that lame.

    Of course, user can always manually run the Registry Editor, and navigate to the registry key above to modify the AllowElevatedProcess registry entry value. Well, it tells you to create a DWORD value of which Windows says it's a 32-bit value. You can also create a QWORD value, which would be 64-bit.
