Customizing front page

I am making a small CMS system.. And come to the front of the administrative portion. But but but.. What should be on the first page right when you logged in? What would be nice to have there?

I am completely blank. I have just a blank page with menu.

I think this will be nice option. Well, how will it be if I club all the suggestions that are given here on the front page? Probably.. a jumbling page.. but can be customized properly. Anyways, thank you very much for the quick and small replies.
