Displaying all folders as thumbnails in Windows XP

Hi,

That is when I'm looking for a document in a folder the default view is "Details", is it possible to change something in Windows for the appearance or default on thumbnails? Thank you ...

Normally just click Thumbnails on the View menu of the explorer. And if you want it to be the same for all cases, after the change to a given folder, you click on Tools / Folder Options / View tab and then you click on Apply to All Folders. And click on apply to make all folders views as thumbnails . Good luck

Do you have your folder settings set to Thumbnail? That is the only way you will see the picture on a folder. You can right click on any folder you want to and choose customize and select a picture for the folder. The picture on the folder is only visable in Thumbnail view. You cannot have Thumbnail view on the desktop. You can change the icon of a folder to the picture you want by resizing the picture you want to 32x32 or 48x48 and save as a .ico. You can easily do this with Irfanview. Just right click your folder and choose properties then select customize and change the icon to your picture that you saved as .ico and you're done.
