Unable to Delete shortcut on desktop

Hi All,

I have updated my software with latest version. But now i cannot delete the shortcut for that software from the desktop. How to move or delete that shortcut? Please help...

Reboot your system and check if its there. If it doesn't work then try to rename it or Press "Shift+Del". If you want to move it, then try Cut option by right clicking on it or simply Press "Ctrl+x".

It might possible that the explorer.exe process locked that file and effectively preventing you from deleting them. Usually, these files should not be touched, but sometimes, situations arise when you really need to erase some troublesome ones.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Open a command prompt
2. Navigate to the shortcut location
3. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, click on “task manager”, select the Processes tab
4. Select explorer.exe process and Press “End Process” button then press Yes.
5. Then go back to the command prompt and delete the shortcut
6. Open task manager windows again
7. Select Application tab and click new task
8. Type explorer.exe in the “create new task” field
9. Then press OK.
