How do i enable Windows Aero on Vista Basic?
Hi i have Vista Home Basic. Just anybody can show me the path how do i enable windows aero on vista basic? thanks for any help

If you have the Basic version of Windows Vista and if your machine is equipped with a graphics card that supports DirectX 9 and has 128 MB of memory minimum aware that it is possible to enable Aero. That is how to enable Aero:

  • Open the Start menu
  • Click Run
  • Enter regedit.exe to start the Registry Editor.
  • Go to the following key:
    HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
  • Right there are two keys: Composition to 1 and Composition Policy to 2
  • Restart the session with administrator privileges
  • And alternately run "net stop uxsms" and "net start uxsms"
  • Reboot your PC.

You are now with Aero.
