If you have the Basic version of Windows Vista and if your machine is equipped with a graphics card that supports DirectX 9 and has 128 MB of memory minimum aware that it is possible to enable Aero. That is how to enable Aero:
- Open the Start menu
- Click Run
- Enter regedit.exe to start the Registry Editor.
- Go to the following key:
HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM- Right there are two keys: Composition to 1 and Composition Policy to 2
- Restart the session with administrator privileges
- And alternately run "net stop uxsms" and "net start uxsms"
- Reboot your PC.
You are now with Aero.
