why hidden folder invisible ?

i am using win xp . som month before i had hide some folder and did do not show process from tool but from few days i am not able to find the " Tools" option in my pc.I am not able to view my hidden folders.please Can any one help to find out what is wrong ?

i tried to do that procedure but after setting to show files and click ok .
file still stay in hidden state unable to see.

i think you don't have anti virus on your pc as your problem is due to virus , installed anti-virus update it and scan for virus ...

and if you want to search your hidden folders go to search >then advance option > make tick on "search hidden folders" you will get what you want ..
