Whichever files I open or the programs I run, the icons appear on the recent items section of the Vista start menu. I want to disable this thing or I want to remove this. How to do?

To clear recent items from the Start menu,
- Click the Start button.
- Right-click Recent Items, and then click Clear Recent Items List.
Thanks for the response. This just deletes the icons from the start menu recent items. The next time I run programs and open files, those icons again appear in the list. I dont want to have that only.
Complete disabling of the recent items icon in the start menu of Windows Vista is i think not possible. There might be some external tweaks available for this I am completely unaware about this.
