windows xp display resolution gets reset to 16bit

hi
i have some problem regarding winxp display .
i set resolution to 1024*768 with color quality 32bit but as i restart the computer windows display get reset to 800*600 with color quality 16bit .
every time as i restart i need to configure my desktop ,please can any body help me to solve this problem ?

hi
you try to run pc in safe mode. scan windows in safe made and restart it and just check it work or not?

hi
there is nothing going to work with scan disk .just check your video card driver.
there is chance of improper driver installation ..
so if you already install it then uninstall display driver restart pc
install again proper version of display driver.....
try it .

i think you are using wrong driver for your pc .install driver which is compatible for your hardware ..!!

hi
i am using onboard graphics card, so i installed driver which came with motherboard package so how come this wrong ?

do you have lcd display ??
and did you install monitor driver for it ?

no actually computer had asked me to install plug and play monitor device driver but i thought monitor is working fine so no need any driver to install .

so
install it ;windows xp mostly auto detect monitor so normally no need to install driver but some time for lcd we need to install its driver that why monitor driver cd come with its package. install it and try .
