By default, Firefox 3 displays a close button on each tab open. You can choose to display a close button only on the selected tab, as is the case in Internet Explorer 7.
- In Firefox, type the command about: config in the address bar and press Enter.
- In the Filter field, enter the command browser.tabs.closeButtons.
- Double click on the option of the same name.
- In the window that appears, enter 0 and then click OK.
- Now the close button is displayed on the selected tab.
- To find the close button on each tab, try the operation and set the value browser.tabs.closeButtons 1.
