Change icons

Here are some tip about dealing with program icons. (On some you can also change the name)

WARNING / / Not for beginners. It may be wrong .. \ \ WARNING

Are you sure? Use the program instead. Ex. Icontweaker, RegToy ...... etc.


So now, change the icon...
(Different ways to do this, so posted in different posts )

Type the path to the icon in the standard value.

As it looks from the outset. (Standard %SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,-137)

Icon on Floppy, Hard drive, CD / DVD Drive

HKEY_LOKAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\

Create new key. "Drive icons"

Create the key. C (Note: All new A:, C:, D: and so the drive icons)

Create yet another in Key during C. default icon

Double-click the default and enter the path to the new icon.

The text / name of the icon

Create another key in the C (Next to the default icon) default Label

Enter the name of the standard value. Ex. A: Floppy in default Label

(Sometimes disappear "lable" when you clean, so you may make new.)

My documents will be accessible to customize your desktop.

To change the icon on the subfolders My Music, My Pictures and My Videos.

Show hidden files and protected operating system files. Tools -> Folder Options -> Impression

Edit Desktop.ini.

Look for the File icon

Type the path to the new icon

If you want to use an icon in a dll file. First dll Icon late index.

Ex. My Music.

IconFile=C:\WINDOWS\system32\pifmgr.dll
IconIndex=-7

Edit: If you want to change the icon to all folders and all of the files. Test icontweaker. Free.
