    Image contrasts - dynamic

    Hey

    I'm out after a new flat screens to my PC that there are several places where I see the picture contrast is the task knowledge twice.

    ex.
    Image Contrast Ratio 1000:1 / 20000:1 (dynamic)

    Which one should I take off point in time?

    What is standard on dynamic and static image contrast?

    Static contrast ... target luminance for 5 points at full brightness and with a white background (R, G, B = 255255255) by 50 cm. Take the average of 5 polls. Some manufacturers choose to completely discard the screen, where the contrast of each item varies too much relative to the average.

    In the same 5 points, at 50 cm wide, made the same luminiscating in black, still with the same brightness, and take the average.
    Contrast = (average luminance, R, G, B = 255255255) / (average luminance, R, G, B = 0,0,0)

    In dynamic contrast brightness equivalent to a minimum by black and white at the max, the contrast is greater. But do not count on the resources of all the items measured in more that one takes the best values of each, which is not necessarily the same point.

    OK, thank you both for the explanation.
