Adobe has published yesterday a batch of updates aimed at professional photographers and sophisticated. The management software all-in-one Lightroom now in version 2.1, Camera Raw module with which it shares a number of improvements is also updated. Version 4.6 is available to users of Creative Suite 3, version 5.1 is reserved for its first buyers of Creative Suite 4.
These three components now support the raw files (RAW) of fifteen digital cameras, including the recent Canon EOS 1000D and EOS 50D, the Nikon D90, D700 and Coolpix P6000, the Pentax K2000, Sony A900 and the Sigma DP-1. This update is therefore welcome, although it is regrettable to have to update software for each new camera. Indeed, although it has some minor drawbacks, the open format DNG (Digital Negative), for example, which aims to standardize the RAW, is available to manufacturers since 2004. The free Open RAW format is also in development. Many bugs have been corrected and the overall stability has been improved.
All these updates are available through the Adobe Updater tool or directly on this page.
Apple has also made a minor upgrade of its management software flow photographic production. Aperture 2.1.2 improves print quality of books ordered through its online printing service. The update is done using the software update of Mac OS X or on this page.
