    Adobe AIR launches on Linux

First known under the code name Apollo, Adobe Air (Adobe Integrated Runtime) was first developed for Windows and Mac OS X. With Adobe AIR offers a development environment for web technologies such as xHTML JavaScript, Flash or Flex. These rich Internet applications (RIA) can then be used as real programs by proposing an ergonomics than a traditional website. On 9 September last year, Adobe announced 25 million facilities for AIR.

After the alpha, Adobe has just released the first beta of AIR for Linux. This new version loads, among other things, a notification system in the task bar, keyboard, several languages, support multi-monitors or full-screen mode. Adobe said that this version does not support DRM. For now, the beta is functional as distributions Fedora Core 8, Unbuntu 7.10 and Open Suse 10.3.
