    Re: Best Antivirus Software

There are number of antiviruses out by now:
    • BitDefender
    • Kaspersky
    • ESET Nod32
    • Trend Micro (PC-Cillin)
    • F-Secure Anti-Virus
    • McAfee VirusScan
    • Norton AntiVirus
    • AVG Anti-Virus Pro
    • CA Antivirus
    • Norman Virus Control

I haven't tried out all of them but i have used McAfee VirusScan and BitDefender. According to my experience BitDefender is better.

If you are looking after an antivirus for home use than i will suggest you to get NOD32. If you want one for office use than go with Norton AntiVirus. Currently i am using NOD32 in my home system and it works great, its quite efficient and light, its not resource hungry at all. Before installing NOD32 i had checked out free edition of AVG ,McAfee as well as Norton but i found them to be a bit resource hungry while carrying out scan as compared to NOD32.

Yes i am looking after one for home use, i dont have much idea about NOD32. I haven't come across any one using it and its not in top list for 2008 any where. I dont mind trying out its trail version if available and i will use it if i find it lighter as compared to yop ones mentioned here.

30 day trial of nod32 is available, i agree to everything Gonzo has mentioned. I have been using it for more than 5 months and i dont have any doubt in saying that it is the best antivirus for home use. Just like Gonzo i had tried out 30 day trial of Kaspersky and AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition before and they were quite good but after trying out nod32 i haven't looked back to them as i found nod32 to be better in every term as per my requirement.
