AVG 8 slow computer

I am having a laptop (celeron 2.4ghz and 500mb ram), i had installed AVG 7 on it previously but yesterday i have upgraded to AVG 8 . Since upgrading it has started running very slow, i have ran a full scan and no infections were found but i dont know what's making my system to run slow. I have cleared out all temporary files and have tried all possible solutions that i could have but no luck yet. I wanted to know if this can be an issue because of limited specification of my laptop??

I guess it is due to limited specification of your laptop, i have some friends who have upgraded to AVG 8 but they never complaint anything like this. If you haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling AVG 8 than give that a try and see if that's making any difference. If not than try installing it on some other system having good specs to check out if it is running fine there.
